Gillian A. Fisher received her law degree from City University of New York in 1995 and has been admitted to practice in the State of New York since February 1996. She is also admitted in the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
During law school, Ms. Fisher was an intern for the Honorable Richard F. Braun, an intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, and between her second and third years of school, worked in the Alaska Public Defender Agency in Bethel, Alaska, where she was able to represent defendants from arraignment to trial under the State’s student practice rule.
Since graduating from law school in 1995, Ms. Fisher’s practice has been dedicated to the defense of complex, high exposure medical malpractice matters on behalf of several major New York area hospital systems and medical practices. Her 20+ years of experience has included handling every component of a medical malpractice case, from drafting answers, to analyzing successfully writing and arguing summary judgment motions, as well as negotiating settlements. She has also tried several cases, including the first Assisted Outpatient Treatment trial in New York State.
Ms. Fisher had been a competitive figure skating as a child, then became a figure skating coach ranked under the Professional Skaters Association, and is now a figure skating judge appointed by the United States Figure Skating Association.
